Christmas Home Tour Portrait for The Dallas Womans Forum

Each year since becoming a member of The Dallas Woman’s Forum I have been tasked with creating an illustration to advertise the Annual Holiday Home Tour. Each year is a new challenge to create something similar but unique to showcase the beautiful turn of the century mansion that The Woman’s Forum calls home.

Duke & Puccini, a Dachshund and a Yorkie

This portrait was a really fun one. Sometimes dogs aren’t very cooperative about having their picture taken, and it’s even more difficult to get a good picture of two dogs together. I put this together from a couple of different pictures to get a flattering portrait of both dogs.

Ring Drawings from Alice in Weddingland

Back in April I was invited to do some ring sketches at Groom Sold Separately’s Alice in Weddingland party. It was my first time doing this kind of live quick sketching so I was really nervous. Luckily it went remarkably well. All of the brides were nice and patient. And I got to see a …

American Traditional House in Lakewood

This 9×12 watercolor was done as a home buyer gift for a real estate agent. It was a difficult house to photograph. I took a lot of pictures before I found the right angle for the painting.

Art Marker Drawing of Gabi & Margee Rita

I wasn’t quite sure how to incorporate this into the portrait. I did several small sketches to get a better idea of …

Helsem Bend Backyard

This is a house portrait I did for a Realtor as a new home owner gift. It is a 9×12 art marker drawing. It is the first portrait I have done of a backyard, which created some challenges. I couldn’t go to the house to take more references pictures so I had to work from …
