Gap/Rue Magazine Party

Recently I was asked to do some live fashion sketches at a Gap/Rue Magazine Party. The local Styld By event was wonderfully done by Sweet Pea Events’ Kelly Simants and Meaghan Cody. I sketched the fun and colorful outfits the party goers put together and they got to take their sketches home as unique party …

Amanda & James, wedding sketches

In February I had the pleasure of attending Amanda & James’ wedding not only as a guest, but to create sketches as gifts. I sat with the bridal party as they had their hair and make-up done and drew sketches of them in their dresses. During the reception I finished the bridesmaid sketches, as well …

Twin Lake House Portraits

This pair of 9×12 art marker portraits were commissioned by a wife as a gift for her husband. The lake houses are right next door to each other and one was remodeled to resemble the other. She chose art marker because she wanted the portraits to have the same casual, playful feel of the houses …

I drew about 14 fashion sketches of the ladies in about 3 hours while they were getting their hair and make-up done and having some lunch. …

First Dance at the Old Red Courthouse

Christina of MYLA Concepts (who makes the most delicious cake balls in town!) ordered this portrait as a gift for her husband for their 1st anniversary.  It is a watercolor on paper so it was a perfect choice because as you might know paper is the traditional first anniversary gift. Their wedding took place in …

Christmas Home Tour Portrait for The Dallas Womans Forum

Each year since becoming a member of The Dallas Woman’s Forum I have been tasked with creating an illustration to advertise the Annual Holiday Home Tour. Each year is a new challenge to create something similar but unique to showcase the beautiful turn of the century mansion that The Woman’s Forum calls home.

Duke & Puccini, a Dachshund and a Yorkie

This portrait was a really fun one. Sometimes dogs aren’t very cooperative about having their picture taken, and it’s even more difficult to get a good picture of two dogs together. I put this together from a couple of different pictures to get a flattering portrait of both dogs.
